Love, Rosie to feature both Lily Collins and Sam Clafin

Love, Rosie, a romantic comedy staring Lily Collins and Sam Claffin from Catching Fire, Snow white and the Huntsman, and Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides.

Mister Smith Entertainment (MSE) CEO David Garrett announced today that MSE will introduce Constantin Film's latest feature, the romantic comedy Love, Rosie, to international buyers this week at the upcoming European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin. Lily Collins (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Mirror Mirror) stars in the title role, and Sam Claflin (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Snow White and the Huntsman, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) portrays her best friend and star-crossed lover, Alex.

Robert Kulzer and Martin Moszkowicz producer and executive producer (respectively) of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, will work with Lily Collins again in Love, Rosie.

About the movie:

Rosie Dunne and her best friend Alex take a leap of faith, both on life and on each other, when they decide to go to America together to attend University. But fate has other plans for Rosie who discovers that she is pregnant after a crazy night out with the most popular boy in school. She encourages Alex to go without her, hopeful that she’ll catch up with him eventually. Over the next twelve years, their lives change dramatically but the undeniable connection remains. At the back of Rosie's mind is always the question, what if fortune had taken another turn and they were meant to be more than just good friends. When ultimately presented with the opportunity, will they gamble everything for the chance to be together?

It’s going to be a great year for heroines in movies, on TV and in books — but not necessarily the easy-to-love/worship kind. Jennifer Lawrence‘s Katniss Everdeen (this year in Catching Fire), The Americans‘ Elizabeth (Keri Russell), Beautiful Creatures‘ Lena(Alice Englert) and The Great Gatsby’s Daisy (Carey Mulligan) are complex women and girls who don’t automatically know what’s right, and sometimes they have to choose saving themselves over saving the world. The Mortal Instruments‘ Clary Fray (Lily Collins), Shadow and Bones‘ Aline, Delirium’s Lena and Warm Bodies‘ Julie (Teresa Palmer) have a little self-discovery to do before they become full-fledged heroines. The Legend Trilogy’s June and The Host’s Wanderer/Melanie (Saoirse Ronan) have to navigate between worlds to figure out whom to fight for. And Oz‘s Glinda (Michelle Williams) and Ender’s Game’s Petra (Hailee Steinfeld) are ladies whose strength is obvious, but whose roles in the bigger picture remains to be seen. As for Chloe Moretz’s Hit Girl, who returns in this summer’s Kick-Ass 2 — she’s always going to be in a category all her own.
